JOB TITLE: Law Clerk I – position #21111026
POSITION LOCATION: 11th Judicial District – Kalispell MT
POSITION STATUS/SCHEDULE: Part-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours per pay period)
SALARY AND GRADE LEVEL: Grade 17/ $20.34 /hour.
JOB POSTING STATUS: External to the general public

SPECIAL INFORMATION:
• Length of appointment is negotiable
• A criminal background check will be required.
• An employee new to the Judicial Branch will serve a one-year probationary
period.
Law clerks serving more than two years will be moved to senior law clerk status.
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The 11th Judicial District is recruiting for a law clerk. The successful candidate will provide legal research and support for the District Court Judge. The successful candidate will draft legal memos on contested motions, draft portions of legal opinions and court orders. The successful candidate will also conference with judge concerning legal questions, legal theories and content of opinions and orders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a JD, legal research experience and excellent writing skills. New graduates as well as experienced attorneys will be considered.
